As a Controls Engineer, this role will enable you to perfect your controls experience while integrating some of the most state-of-the-art robotics & technology available. Ideal candidate will have experience working for a robotic integrator. Our custom automation systems include pneumatics, servos, frequency drives, vision systems, communication networks, touchscreen, pushbuttons, and robotic integration.
What You’ll Do:
• Design, implement and document controls systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Troubleshoot robot controllers, ladder logic, electrical control devices, mechanical units, transfer devices and peripheral equipment.
• Analyze project requirements and review customer SOW/RFP/RFQ specifications to develop customized electrical and control system design solutions for various automation applications
• Develop and optimize electrical design drawing packages using AutoCAD Electrical software
• Develop, write, and optimize PLC, HMI, Vision and Robot programs:
o PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron)
o HMI (Allen Bradley, Siemens)
o Vision (Cognex, Keyence, Fanuc)
o Robot (ABB, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kuka)
• Provide installation/start-up/debug assistance as needed; advise Project Manager of equipment installation issues and potential corrective actions.
• Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities; and provide technical support to external and internal customers
• Assist with safety risk assessments for robot cells in accordance with ANSI R15.06 standards: identify possible hazards and determine risk reduction requirements, suggest solutions, and validate.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) OR Associates degree with 3+ years of experience.
• 3+ years engineering experience in building controls, machine tools, and troubleshooting control systems
• Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including vision, power, sensor, inspection, communications systems, and Robot & HMI Programming
• Proficient with AutoCad-Electrical, MS Office, Cognex Vision Systems, Siemens, and Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000
• Understanding of RIA Robot Safety Standards, OSHA Safety Standards, and NFPA 79 standards
• Must be a US Citizen (ITAR compliance)
