FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· The successful candidate will oversee various Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) functions in a chemical manufacturing facility targeting the minimization of risk and reducing workplace injuries or environmental impact.
· Primary responsibilities of this position include managing programs such as Process Safety Management (PSM), behavior-based safety, lockout/tagout and confined space permitting.
· Assist with oversight of other safety and environmental functions including, procedure development and enforcement, job safety analyses, employee training, emergency response, fire protection project risk analysis, etc. Depending on their background, the candidate will also help develop a system to track GHG/carbon footprint for the site/products based on established global practices and coordinate ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) activities.
· This position requires frequent interaction with manufacturing employees regarding safety/environmental related matters and reports to the site Safety, Health, and Environmental Manager.
· This is a great opportunity to work at a site that is involved in almost every aspect of SHE including Title V, CEMS, MACT, LDAR, hazardous/non-hazardous waste, stormwater, wastewater, ESG, ODS, Radiation Safety, Lockout/Tagout, Permit Required Confined Space, Process Safety Management, Management Of Change, Risk Management Planning, Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Response, Fire Protection, Fall Protection, Respirator Protection and more.
· Operations at the company include hydrolysis, batch & continuous hydrogenation, distillation, solvent separation, esterification, ozonolysis, absorption, and others.

REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or another related field (required)
· 2+ years of manufacturing experience (required)
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations including process safety (required)
· Behavior-based safety program experience (required)
· Proven ability to be a problem solver who can adapt to the ever-changing priorities of a 24/7 chemical manufacturing environment (required)
· Proven ability to work with all levels of manufacturing employees and is comfortable in a hands-on industrial environment (required)
· Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (desired)
· 4+ years of chemical manufacturing experience (desired)
· Process Safety Management experience (desired)
· GHG/carbon footprint and ESG experience (desired)
· Passion to solve problems and make lasting improvements (desired)
